Problem :
The current event booking process at Crepes & Waffles creates significant friction for its target users, like Carolina, a busy marketing director. Her primary pain points stem from a reliance on telephone reservations, which involve multiple calls to confirm availability, uncertainty regarding table arrangements, and an inability to easily manage changes. This analog process generates stress and uncertainty , failing to meet her expectation for the seamless digital efficiency found in other premium apps she uses daily. On a broader scale, there is a market gap for specialized, premium restaurant booking applications in Colombia that cater to the specific needs of family celebrations and provide transparent, instant cost calculations.



Solution :
The solution is a bespoke mobile application designed exclusively for booking events at Crepes & Waffles, meticulously crafted to reflect the brand's unique aesthetic. The application's core consists of three key screens: a welcoming landing page, a comprehensive reservation screen for detailing event specifics (location, date, time), and an instant confirmation screen. Inspired by best practices from platforms like OpenTable, the booking flow is designed to be progressive and transparent, breaking the process into 3-4 clear steps. To directly address user anxiety, the solution provides instant, multi-channel confirmations that include a QR code and calendar integration, eliminating the uncertainty of the phone-based system.






Challenge :
The primary design challenge was to create a modern, frictionless booking experience while remaining completely faithful to the beloved and distinct aesthetic of the Crepes & Waffles brand. This required balancing the adoption of best practices from leading platforms like Resy and OpenTable with the restaurant's unique visual identity.
A second key challenge was to address the identified market gap by incorporating features that cater specifically to the cultural nuances of Colombian family celebrations, a detail often missed by international apps. Finally, the crucial challenge was to design a system that builds trust and eliminates the user's core anxiety, ensuring the digital confirmation process is so clear and reliable that it eradicates the habit of making follow-up phone calls.
Summary :
This project involved designing a mobile application to streamline event reservations for the popular restaurant chain, Crepes & Waffles. The primary user, represented by the persona Carolina Contreras, is a busy professional who values the brand but is frustrated by the inefficiency and uncertainty of booking family celebrations by phone.
The objective was to design a fluid, premium booking experience that mirrors the efficiency of other modern digital apps, while faithfully adhering to Crepes & Waffles' established brand identity. The core deliverables included a welcome screen, a detailed reservation flow, and a confirmation page to create a seamless and trustworthy user journey.
